Strikingly beautiful eye.

This is an actual, unaltered photo of an albino’s eye. Not all albino people wind up with red eyes as albino animals (our irises are very different). Due to a thick layer of melanin on the back of the iris, albino people normally wind up with blue eyes or brown eyes. The ones that do wind up with red eyes are of a severe form of albinism, and their eyes are like that because with no melanin, we see the only the hemoglobin in their eyes, making it pink, sometimes more of a red, but every now and then, it can make the eye this beautiful shade of purple.

I know all the disadvantages of severe albinism (which I’d probably have to have for purple eyes), but this is so gorgeous and amazing, so striking and awesome (the true sense of the word, for me. I was and am in awe) that it almost makes me wish I had it. Don’t judge me too hard on that.

With all that said, I am not going to act like I’m not almost the same color of milk. I’m so (shamefully) white that sometimes, if I’m wearing plain white socks, it is almost hard to tell where it starts. So no one, please, get the idea that I’m trying to exploit anything or treat it like some fucked up freak show. I genuinely love this eye and I would consider it a major, major plus to albinism.
